Im Amanda Wabs! At work, they just call me Wabs! I had just graduated high school (at the top of my class, I might add?) I had a 3.65 GPA!!! I was a waitress at the Big Boy on Gratiot Boulevard, in Marysville, Michigan. I was attending SC4 (Saint Clair County Community College) I had applied for Cornerstone University while I was in high school, but I didnt know how to afford it, so I took 3 classes at SC4. I was taking General Education, because I had NOT A CLUE what I wanted to do!
Back that up….I wanted to study music because I wanted to be a singer. Long story. I had just completed 1 semester in community College. I was applied for my second semester. On May 20, 2013. I was at Birchwood Mall (in Port Huron or St. Clair, Mi) visiting my 2 high school classmates. I had NO idea my life would change forever!!!
I was driving to my parent’s house in Marysville in a 1994 Oldsmobile. On I-94 highway. I was getting onto Gratiot Boulevard. No one knows what happened, but they know I got off the highway, and was T-boned by a woman driving an SUV. A state trooper saw the accident. He got to me right before I lost consciousness. I heard I was only able to tell him where my cellphone was, not who to call? He called either my Aunt Debbie, or my Aunt Sherry. She called mom and dad. They called my 2 brothers.
I was ambulance over to Port Huron Mercy Hospital (the closest hospital). They called a helicopter. I got to the hospital. They took care of my closed head injury, broken hip (pelvis), and open wounds….all while they waited for the helicopter.
Well, it came, and it took me to the nearest Trauma Center, which was in Royal Oak, Michigan. It’s a Beaumont Hospital.
I stayed unconscious for a month. I woke up. I couldnt do ANYTHING!!!! Not even speak! I had just started dating a VERY handsome young man. Apparently, when I was unconscious, just his presence in the room made me smile. True love???? I think so….
When I woke up, my vocal chord was paralyzed and i couldnt talk. I’ll try to post a picture….my parents called Kaden and asked him just to talk, so I could hear his voice! (Sorry. Can’t find it)
I had NO idea who Kaden was when I woke up, but he came to the hospital almost every day and introduced himself as my boyfriend! It was like the movie….50 First Dates. With Adam Sandler. I met Kaden for the first time 50 times!!!!! Every day I was VERY happy with him? He was in Jr. ROTC? Like I said, VERY handsome!!!!! I wish I had a picture of him, but it’s now 2026, and we broke up about 12 years ago? He was as fit as a fiddle! (There’s literally no such thing as a fat marine) he had freckles, black hair, and the Marine haircut. As a woman? That haircut!!!! Seriously? NOTHING IS MORE HANDSOME! I talked to a woman 20+ years older than me, and she agrees!
